Peach & Basil Grilled Cheese

Grilled cheese is a classic that can’t be beat, but what if you add fresh peach and basil from the Farmer’s Market??


You get the ultimate Summer grilled cheese is what!


I used Bread Srsly classic sourdough to keep this recipe gluten-free and raw cheddar because it has more nutrients than pasteurized cheese (and I think cheddar pairs v well with fruit) 


Ingredients:

1 tbsp butter

2 slices sourdough

A few slices of raw cheddar 

Sprinkle of fresh basil

1/4 peach, thinly sliced


Directions:

Heat a small pan over medium low heat and add the butter. Once melted, add both pieces of sourdough


Layer the slices of cheese on one slice of bread followed by the basil and the peach slices. Place the other piece of bread on top, butter side up


Once the bottom slice is golden brown, carefully flip the sandwich (this should take about 2 minutes)


Cook for another 2 minutes until golden on both sides and the cheese is melted. If it starts to burn, turn the heat down and add a bit more butter!
