Do artificial sweeteners cause cancer?
A study was just published showing a potential link between artificial sweeteners (commonly known as Splenda, Sweet N Low, Equal and NutraSweet) and risk for developing cancer
French researchers analyzed data and suggested a potential increased risk for breast cancer and obesity-related cancers.
The findings suggest that people consuming larger quantities of artificial sweeteners had a 13% higher risk of developing cancer compared to people consuming none
While there are limitations to the study, it does not suggest artificial sweeteners are a safe and healthy alternative to sugar!!
Artificial sweeteners are found in all kinds of packaged foods like chips, candy, diet sodas, energy drinks and protein powders
