Healthy Fats To Add To Your Diet

Say it with me: Fats do not make you fat!!!

Fats have been demonized for way too long, and I don’t believe one bit that a low fat diet is the way to go for weight loss or balancing blood sugar (I’m not a doctor, but the research is sound)

Studies show that saturated fat is not correlated with an increased risk of heart diseases unless paired with carbohydrates!! Aka eating a burger and fluffy bun and milkshake and greasy fries. Skip all the junk and stick to the meat and veg (for the most part but have fun occasionally)

When I thought I needed to restrict fat, my meals were never very filling and always felt like they were missing something. I personally thought butter was “unhealthy” until a few years ago, and now I eat @kerrygold all the dang time and feel so much healthier and satiated after meals

I add either butter, avocado, coconut milk or olive oil to literally everything that I eat — it adds bomb flavor and amazing fats

Just make sure you’re eating HEALTHY fats with high Omega 3s (anti-inflammatory), not processed junk food (vegetable oils high in Omega 6s and factory farmed low quality meats)

Great sources of healthy fats:

Salmon and other fatty fish

Olives

Avocado

Olive Oil

Pasture-raised Eggs

Coconut Milk/Oil

Grass-fed Butter

Grass-fed Meats

Nuts & Seeds (my favorites are cashews and chia seeds)
